As is tradition, on the first Saturday of August, Verdala Palace provides the ideal backdrop for the Ball of the August Moon, held in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
This Ball knows its origins more than 60 years ago, during the time of Governor Laycock, when it also used to be held as a fundraising activity.
Whilst introducing this year’s edition, on his behalf, and on behalf of the President of Malta, H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, thanked all those who attended the Ball, adding that this year people have travelled from as far as Australia, Dubai and England to attend the Ball of the August Moon.
He also thanked the committee members for their hard work and dedication, as well as the sponsors, without which, the event would not have been possible.
The patrons of the Ball of the August Moon has the opportunity to dine in the magical atmosphere that only Verdala Palace can offer, whilst being entertained by the Band of the Armed Forces of Malta, the Band of the Malta Police Force and the Brass House Unit.
